Guardian | Charities say prisoners face mistreatment amid western concern over Tripoli's failure to tackle security and political issues. Three months after the killing of Muammar Gaddafi, concerns are mounting about the mistreatment and torture of prisoners held by Libyan militiamen who are operating beyond the control of the country's transitional government, as well as by officially recognised security bodies.

What Have We Gotten For The Trillion Dollars We Have Spent On Wars In Afghanistan, Iraq And Libya?
| Economic Collapse Blog | Over a trillion U.S. taxpayer dollars have been spent on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Whether you are for the wars or against the wars, it is important for all of us to step back and evaluate what we have really gotten for all of that money. In Libya, we have actually helped al-Qaeda forces that were shooting at U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan take over the country. Now they have announced that they will be imposing strict Sharia law on all of Libya. After 10 years of having our boys shot up in Afghanistan, the Afghan government is so "grateful" that they are publicly saying that they will side with Pakistan in any future war against the United States. In Iraq, Islamic radicals are beheading and murdering dozens and dozens of Christians and the new Iraqi government seemingly can't wait to push the remaining U.S. soldiers out of the country. We ran up well over a trillion dollars of new debt to "liberate" these countries, but are they really in better shape than they were before these wars? Are we really in better shape than we were before these wars? Read

Rebel military chief says he was tortured by CIA
| The Independent | The overthrow of Gaddafi has brought together strange allies, but few stranger than Abdulhakim Belhaj, the military commander of all rebel military forces in Tripoli, and Nato. An Islamist whom Gaddafi tried to have the US list as a terrorist, Mr Belhaj says he was tortured by CIA agents after being arrested in the Far East in 2004 and later handed over by them to Colonel Gaddafi for further torture and imprisonment in Libya. After Libya, Syria is Next in Line for a NATO Sponsored "Regime Change"
| GlobalResearch.ca | With globalist restructuring plans for the Middle East and North Africa looking to be nearly complete, one major hurdle remains. After a relatively easy path to victory in Tunisia and Egypt, and with the project to dismantle and re-privatise the Libyan state nearly complete, only Syria remains as the last serious contender for resistance against a globalist effort to dominate the greater region. Did NATO Stage the Green Square “Celebration”?
| Infowars.com | Fake footage suggests event was another psychological operation like the toppling of the Saddam statue NATO’s haste to convince Libyans and the watching world that Colonel Gaddafi’s regime had collapsed even as fighting still raged seemingly forced their hand in staging the Green Square “celebration” that was endlessly broadcast by the establishment media to lend the rebel siege on Tripoli a sense of legitimacy. Rebels’ Assault on Tripoli Began With Careful Work Inside
| NYT | Among the rebel leaders it was referred to as zero hour, the moment when residents of Tripoli would rise up against Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s forces after a six-month war in the desert that had failed to break his 42-year grip on power. But an uprising never materialized, in part because a bloody crackdown on protesters in February by Colonel Qaddafi’s forces had served as a grim deterrent to those inside Tripoli who might try to challenge the government’s authority. Obama to Approve ‘Al-Qaeda Embassy’ in Washington
| Infowars.com |The Obama administration is preparing to follow Britain in recognizing the rebel National Transitional Council as the official government of Libya by approving an embassy in Washington DC, which given the fact that the rebel army is spearheaded by Al-Qaeda militants who have killed U.S. troops would equate to Obama handing terrorists a diplomatic outpost on U.S. soil. Two Bombers, 24 Hours, 100 Libyan Targets Destroyed
| Wired.com | It began with an email in late February. The message, sent by air planners at the Germany headquarters of U.S. Africa Command to the 608th Air and Space Operations Center located at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, jump-started a “byzantine” process of communication, planning and paperwork involving no fewer than 10 U.S. military headquarters scattered across the globe.
